|Who am I & why photography?|
Ron Quick has lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for over 25 years. He enjoys being a husband to Melissa and a father to his daughter Finnley. In addition they have two rescued Greyhounds Fancy & Jersey. Ron is currently pursuing his masters degree and works full time for a local hospital.
During his undergraduate degree he enrolled in a 9 week digital photography class. This course ignited his passion for capturing images that have an urban abstract look. Using a Canon EOS 60 & (2)70D's coupled with 10-24mm, 18-200mm, & a 150-500mm lenses Ron shoots in the manual setting in and around the Lincoln area. Post editing usually consists of trimming, sharpening, and adjusting of saturation levels using just simple iPhoto software.
A few of Ron's images have been used for a community playhouse production, a background image for a company website, multiple images featured in "Focus On Nebraska" book currently for sale at Barnes and Noble and a month long exhibit at the Nebraska Governor's residence. In addition this summer from July into August an exhibit at the Fred Simon Gallery in Omaha at the Nebraska Arts Council. However, photography for Ron is just a hobby and a outlet for self expression that alleviates some of life's pressures. And in doing so hopefully gives viewers a smile of wonderment.
